The small Chapel of the Calvary
Long before the arrival of Father of Monfort, on the edge of the forest, on the heath of "La Madeleine", there was a small Chapel devoted to Saint Mary Magdalena. In some writings, it is said that on this spot, there used to be an old leper hospital. it holds some beautiful paintings relating the story of Father of Montfort, a statue of Saint Helen, the mother of the Emperor of Constantine, who instigated the search for the remains of the true Cross. There is also a statue of Saint Louis, patron of Father of Montfort and a statue of Saint Louis Grignion de Montfort, a work by Mr Jean Vallet of Nantes. It houses in particular the "treasure" of the Calvary : the Christ of Father of Montfort.
