The Scala Santa is an imoosing and majestic monument in the classic style.

It measures 21 meters long and 16 meters high. It was the first to be built (1890) after the restoration of the Calvary. It was blessed on 24th June 1891. Mr friboulet, ots architect, was from Nantes.

Mr Valet sculpted the high and bas reliefs. Each group of the statues composing this work was created between 1908 and 1911.

This document marks the 1st station of the Way of the Cross: Jesus is sentenced to death.
