From the start, the Calvary of Pont-Château has been an important gathering place for people from the whole surrounding area. With the development of means of transport and the establishment of the Apostolic School of the Montfortain missionaries, little by little, its reputation has grown beyond the borders of Western France and it has taken on the "colours" of the world.

If, in the past, numerous organized pilgrimages took place all year round, nevertheless it is stil true today that many pilgrims come to pray at the foot of the Calvary. This approach is no dount a more individual one, but during the special celebrations which are organized, Christians gather in numbers in echo to the call of the "Good Father of Montfort": "Dear friends, leap with joy, we have the Calvary on our land. let us run to it, urged on by charity. Let us go see Jesus Christ who died for us".
